Matt Hardy Feels Obligated To Keep An Eye On Private Party, Wants To Make Sure They Course-Correct

Matt Hardy is keeping an eye on Private Party because he wants to make sure they succeed.

Hardy started managing Isiah Kassidy and Marq Quen in 2020, determined to take the young duo to new heights in AEW. Under his guidance, Kassidy and Quen turned heel and later joined the Hardy Family Office. Despite their alliance and this new attitude, Private Party still struggled to find sustained success. In March 2021, the Andrade Hardy Family Office kicked Matt out of the group, and he subsequently reunited with his brother, Jeff. Since then, Private Party has continued their efforts to excel, though they recently came up short when they challenged Swerve in Our Glory for the tag team titles.

During the newest episode of Being The Elite, Brandon Cutler found Hardy watching Private Party's match on TV. When asked about it, he stated that he feels obligated to do so because he previously derailed their success. He teased that he is changing and learning to deny his programming. While he does, the veteran noted that he will keep a close eye on Private Party.

“I feel obligated to. I want them to do well. As you know, I blame myself for detailing their career. You know the expression, ‘What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger’? I think that will apply to them. I definitely think it applies to them. This journey that I’ve been going on recently, you know, everybody knows there’s something wrong with them. They just don’t know what it is. I was fortunate enough to determine what’s wrong with me. I’ve said in the past that I’m not a good guy, that deep down I’m a monster because I will do anything to serve me. I’ve used people, chased clout, anything it took to highlight Matt Hardy. Now that I understand that, and now that I accept that, I’m changing, and I’m learning to deny my programming. So from afar, I will keep a close eye on Private Party because I owe to them to make sure they are course corrected. With that said, they have," Hardy said.
