Matt Hardy comments on the recent tag team TLC match in WWE.
The April 25 edition of WWE SmackDown featured a TLC match between the Street Profits, #DIY, and the Motor City Machine Guns. The match was contested for the WWE Tag Team Championships, with the Street Profits retaining and walking away with the titles in the end.
On the latest episode of his The Extreme Life Of Matt Hardy podcast, Matt Hardy watched the match through, saying that it was a very good match that had great moments and false finishes.
“It was good. I thought it was really strong, I thought it was physiologically done well. I’m a fan. I thought it had a ton of great action. I see why it received so much praise, it was a very very good match. They did well, they really laid out everything within the common parameters. It was exciting, they had moments where it was teased, there were some good false finishes. It had so much athleticism. It had their style of wrestling too, the dives and more high impact stuff and everybody took some big bombs. It was great. I thought it was all done very well. I think they did a great job of making all of the performers, I think all the teams, they all stood out. They all had their moments and I think being in a match like that elevates all three teams.”
Then, Hardy was asked if the match should have been featured at WrestleMania 41.
“I mean, yeah, I would have been super cool with this match being on WrestleMania. I almost don’t know why you don’t pull the trigger on a match like this because I think just having this match on WrestleMania, I think it elevates all three teams even more it makes them all more legendary, right? It is what it is, I don’t know what their reasoning was behind it for holding on and doing it live at SmackDown, maybe they specifically want to try and showcase them more and thought more people would see it. I don’t know, I don’t know what the motivation was, but it would have definitely fit on WrestleMania and would have been a great WrestleMania classic match. Regardless, I’m just happy we got the match all together.”
