Matt Hardy Says Open Challenge For HOG Tag Team Titles Won’t Be An AEW Team

The Hardys (Matt Hardy and Jeff Hardy) are set to defend their HOG Tag Team Titles in Las Vegas in an open challenge.
While any team can answer, fans shouldn’t expect an AEW team to step into the ring.
Speaking to TMZ Inside The Ropes, Hardy was asked if any team can truly answer the call following the news that TNA had pulled talent involved in matches against AEW competitors.
“For me, it would be. I don’t know what the higher ups would say. I think, we had already determined because we’re the tag champions at TNA, we determined we weren’t going to do an AEW team early on with House of Glory. Maybe anybody but them. I don’t think AEW could do it anyway because if they get in the ring with the GOATs, they’re probably not going to win and I think they have to win,” Hardy said with a laugh.
On Wednesday, it was announced that TNA pulled Leon Slater from his match against Ricochet and Nic Nemeth from his match with MJF in the coming weeks.
