Matt Hardy Would Love To Do 'Broken Matt' Series With Jeff Hardy And Jeremy Borash

Matt Hardy doesn't want to be finished with the Broken Universe just yet.

In 2016, Matt Hardy launched the Broken Universe, creating Broken Matt in IMPACT Wrestling. The Broken Universe took on a life of its own with IMPACT with cinematic matches and full episodes of IMPACT being dedicated to the world.

While Hardy has reinvented the wheel all throughout his career, Broken Matt was arguably his most ambitious and successful work given how detached from reality the character was compared to previous characters.

Speaking to Chris Van Vliet on Insight, Hardy said he hopes to continue the Broken Matt character in some form down the line.

"Broken Matt has a very dear place in my heart. I would love to do a silly ass Broken Matt series, whatever it may be. I'm sure Jeff would be down for it too. He loves that nonsense as well. I think it'd be really fun. Maybe one of these days we'll get Jeremy Borash back over, we'll take JB and we'll film some more Broken Universe content," he said.

Borash is currently signed to WWE.

Hardy is credited with creating cinematic matches before doing cinematic matches became more of the norm during the pandemic as The Final Deletion was a filmed match that aired in July 2016.

Hardy said about doing cinematic matches prior to the pandemic, "It's so crazy that we were ahead of this pandemic doing that. The whole reason I wanted to do it was to do something that was unorthodox and out of the ordinary and something that would give us a different avenue to tell a story, something that would be very strange. I wanted it to be a throwback to the early 90s crazy characters like Papa Shango and Undertaker were starting."

Hardy initially used the Broken Matt character when he joined AEW in 2020, but he said it didn't work due to the lack of fans in the arena.

He is currently leading Private Party and other members in the AHFO in AEW.
