The former Aiden English has announced why he will be booked as Matt Morris for a handful of bookings following his WWE release.
When a superstar leaves WWE, choosing their name for the next portion of their career can be one of the most important decisions they will make. For some, they choose names that they used to use before their run with WWE. For others, they choose to begin a new journey.
Matt Rehwoldt, the former Aiden English, was recently teased to debut in IMPACT Wrestling as The Drama King. For other bookings, he has been advertised as Matt Morris.
Taking to Twitter to explain the change, the former NXT Tag Team Champion reveals but he has decided to use his real name moving forward and the Morris name will only be used for a handful of bookings that he accepted following his release.
Btw you may see ‘Matt Morris’ on a few shows as back when I booked some things it was the name I was planning to use.— Drama King Matt (@DramaKingMatt) July 21, 2021
But going forward I will be using my given name, bringing a touch of my true self to that on screen persona.
I am The Drama King.
I am Matthew Rehwoldt.
One of these bookings will be on commentary for New Japan Pro-Wrestling. Learn more here.
