Matt Riddle talks his time in the ring with Drew Gulak and tries to solve the mystery of Stokely's CD Player.
"The Original Bro" Matt Riddle is hitting his stride in NXT and is targeting the NXT Championship and the North American Title. Another goal that Riddle has made clear over the past year is that he wants to retire Mr. Money In The Bank Brock Lesnar. While Riddle has his sights set on Lesnar, in front of him are plethora of talents to work with in NXT including Roderick Strong who he wrestled at the latest TakeOver show. Riddle has also mixed it up with current 205 Live star Drew Gulak who shares history with Riddle as a part of the 'Catch Point' stable that established its roots in EVOLVE.
Riddle and Gulak had the opportunity to wrestle on a February edition of NXT TV and after their match, they both did their traditional 'Catch Point' handshake. LaToya Ferguson had the opportunity to interview Matt Riddle via RondaRousey.com and Riddle stated that his match with Gulak is one of his favorites from his time in NXT thus far.
"Oh, I was stoked. It was great, and then when we wrestled, of course, the producers were trying to be like, 'Hey, what are you going to do?' And me and Drew were like, 'Well, this is probably going to be the finish, and I’m probably going to hit this and this' and they were like, 'Well, when?' And we were like, 'We don’t know.'… We’ll be like, 'It’s in this order,' but we were not sure how we were going to get there. We might just do some strikes, we might do a sequence of grappling. It might be maybe a running spot, we don’t know, and we went out there, and honestly, that’s still one of my favorite matches since I’ve been to NXT." Riddle shared.
Riddle was asked about the mystery that has hovered over the NXT locker room concerning Stokely Hathaway's CD Player. Riddle questioned if Stokely actually has a CD Player but named Mia Yim as a possible culprit.
"Do I know who stole Stokely’s… I don’t even know if he has—or even had one. I think he just made it up." Riddle said. "If he had one and I had to pick somebody… It’s hard. I think it would be probably Mia [Yim]. I feel like Mia would steal it just to mess with him and not tell. Yeah, I’m pretty sure. She’s always messing with people."
