Strickland is also currently one of the Trios Champions on Lucha Underground and lost his MLW World Heavyweight Championship in July to Low Ki.

It should be noted that Matt Riddle has been reported to have been signed by WWE. While that has not been officially announced he has canceled some independent wrestling dates and WWN made a statement about his future as Champion.

WWN stated that Riddle would continue to have dates added with him if he retained his Championship against Strickland at Evolve 108. He will continue to have some dates with Evolve.

The Evolve Championship was the only Championship which Matt Riddle was holding going into Saturday.

Fightful Wrestling will continue to monitor Riddle's career and any developments between him and WWE.
