Matt Riddle reflects on briefly working with Rob Van Dam.
In MLW's recent Battle Riot bout at the titular event last month, Rob Van Dam would feature as the final entrant and briefly squared off with fellow 420 enthusiast Matt Riddle.
While speaking to Rewind, Recap, Relive in a recent interview, Riddle was asked about getting to share the ring with Rob.
"Me and Rob, we're bros. We really are, and growing up, I was always a huge RVD fan. I never like to say I was a super fan of anybody, but I loved really good, hard-hitting wrestling. And I felt like Rob brought that, but also wasn't like, you know, brother. He had nothing wrong with that. It's a different character. Rob was cool, laid back, but his in-ring ability, his athleticism, all that showed you that, like, yo, this guy can go and then to wrestle him at MLW, which, dream come true, he was the final entrant into the Battle Riot, so it was, you know, like, I wish i had more energy. But it was the end of the match, but we got to mix it up and so cool. It was a moment in time."
Riddle would go on to win the Battle Riot bout and the MLW World Heavyweight Championship.
