Matt Riddle Teases Appearing In The 2019 Royal Rumble

Matt Riddle has his eyes set on the 2019 Royal Rumble.

Even though Riddle is less than two months into his WWE/NXT career, the King of Bros is already set on appearing at one of the biggest shows of the year. Speaking to Edge & Christian on E&C's Pod of Awesomeness, Riddle teased making his WWE "debutt" in the upcoming Royal Rumble.

"TakeOver is the same weekend as the Royal Rumble. I'm a big Rumble guy," said Riddle. "There might be a spot open, maybe I get in there, maybe I make some history. I'm aiming for the stars. Star stallion. It needs to happen."

Riddle has previously stated that he would like to face, and retire, Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania. Winning the Royal Rumble would get him a shot at the Universal or WWE Title. Lesnar currently holds the Universal Title and is set to defend the belt against Braun Strowman at the Royal Rumble.

A NXT surprise in the Rumble should not be out of the question as Andrade "Cien" Almas and Adam Cole both made surprise appearances in the 2018 Royal Rumble.

In July, Riddle spoke to Fightful in his last interview before signing with WWE. You can listen to the interview here.
