Matt Taven is moving full speed ahead to G1 Supercard.
The self-proclaimed "real" Ring Of Honor World Champion Matt Taven will be in action at Sunday's ROH 'Bound By Honor' event which streams live on HonorClub and he alongside Vinny Marseglia and TK O'Ryan are set to defend their World Six-Man Tag Team Championships at the television taping tonight in Lakeland, Florida. To promote the event, the real ROH World Champion Jay Lethal and the "real" ROH World Champion Matt Taven spoke with 'The Ledger'. During the interview, Taven commented on the forthcoming G1 Supercard show in April and stated that he is not trying to breeze through the rest of ROH's upcoming shows but he has his sights set on April 6th.
“Everything right now since Final Battle has had its sights set on MSG,” Taven said. “I’m not taking away from future events coming up, but it’s our Super Bowl. This is the Super Bowl I want to go to. I’ve had Madison Square Garden circled on my calendar, and am looking forward to it.”
Jay Lethal commented on the road to G1 Supercard as well and added that his goal is to get through the television tapings and keep the title until they arrive to MSG at least. Lethal then spoke about how many episodes of ROH TV will be taped tonight.
"My main goal for these TV tapings is trying to keep the Ring Of Honor World Title until Madison Square Garden at least. We’re probably shooting three or four episodes (on Saturday), and I’m not sure how many times I may have to defend. It’s a tough task for me. My ultimate goal is to keep this belt. I want to be first ROH World Champ heading into Madison Square Garden.” Lethal shared.
