Maven would take a bullet for Batista...in the leg.
Former WWE Tough Enough winner and WWE Hardcore Champion Maven worked with a number of top stars throughout his time with WWE. He memorably feuded with Evolution (Triple H, Batista, Ric Flair,, and Randy Orton).
In a video on his YouTube channel, Maven shared his thoughts on several of the WWE stars he worked with. When Batista came up, Maven made it clear that the former WWE Champion is one of his favorite people. He even said he would take a bullet for Batista.
“I love this guy. One of my favorite human beings on Earth. Dave Bautista. Another guy who, in my personal life, helped me out at one of my lowest points. I would take a bullet for Dave Bautista. In the leg, in the leg. I would take a bullet. I don’t need to tell stories about his ring work. Everybody knows how great of a worker he was. Everybody knows about Evolution, everybody knows about his movies and how he’s Drax now," Maven said.
Maven then told a story about how Batista, without hesitating, did him a favor by visting a new gym that opened in his hometown. He recalled how the line was out the door for the former world champion. Maven noted that he pays it forward by going to see Batista's movies.
"Let me give you a quick story on who Dave Bautista is. In my hometown of Harrisonburg, Virginia, the Gold’s Gym was opening up a new location, and the owner of this gym came up up me and said, ‘Maven, we’d love to maybe get one of our wrestling buddies down for our grand opening.’ I said, ‘Okay, who’s your wish list?’ They said, ‘Dave Bautista.’ I said, ‘Let me ask him.’ I asked Dave, and without hesitation, within a second, he said, ‘Absolutely.’ Dave’s line was out the door and down the driveway for people to meet. Now, mind you, I go to this gym, I’m in this gym every week, and no one ever wanted to meet me. But that goes to show the level of star [of Batista]. Love this guy. I can’t wait til his next movie comes out, just so I can go out, pay it forward, pay my money to support him and support whatever he does," Maven said.
