Maven Says At His Peak On The Indies, He Could Ask For Up To $2,000 Per Match And Explains How The Number Dwindled

Maven reflects on his peak earning potential on the independent circuit after leaving WWE in 2005.

Maven earned his spot in WWE by winning a reality show, WWE Tough Enough. From 2001 to 2005, he lived his dream of being a WWE Superstar. Once that run came to an end, Maven, like many WWE Superstars of the past, continued to earn some money on the independent circuit.

During his latest YouTube video, Maven reflected on his peak earning potential when he first left WWE and how that number dipped in the years before he started his successful YouTube channel.

"When I left the WWE in 2005, I was at a peak level of earning potential for the indies, for the independents," he said. "I know as soon as people leave the WWE, that's when their potential is at its highest. Me personally, I could ask for as much as $1,000-$2,000 for a match the moment I left, but that's because I still had name value. I had name recognition. As more days click off the calendar that remove you from being on WWE television, your name value goes down the shitter, the less money you can make over time. Before the YouTube channel started, my name value, my name recognition, might have been worth maybe around $300-$500. It depends on the show, who is running the show, and how good of a booker they are."
