Maxxine Dupri talks about becoming a champion in WWE for the first time.

On the November 17th edition of WWE Monday Night RAW, Maxxine would challenge Becky Lynch for the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship, and thanks to an assist from AJ Lee, she would walk away with her first piece of gold in WWE.

While speaking on a vlog covering the events of last week’s Monday Night RAW, Maxxine Dupri would speak shortly after winning the title, noting that she didn’t think it would ever happen for her, while her fiancé and fellow WWE superstar Anthony Luke predicted it.

“I can’t believe my parents were here. I’m so excited to have dinner with them and just like talk about everything now. I’m excited to see what my parents thought and if they were emotional. I think Anthony was also emotional because when I came back, he was like feeling some type of way and I was like, ‘oh, I gotcha.’ It was funny, we were talking last night and I was like, ‘I don’t know, I never thought I’d be champ.’ Like I just never thought that this would happen for me and he was like, ‘I knew the day you got called up.’ and that’s a good fiancé right there. Took a few years, but we made it.”

Elsewhere in the same interview, Maxxine spoke about advice she received from Hurricane Helms on how she calms her nerves before going through the curtain. You can read more about that here.
