Maya World: I Loved Kelly Kelly, That Was My Girl

Maya World speaks on loving Kelly Kelly when she was a young wrestling fan, noting ‘that was her girl’ at the time.

Maya is only 24 years old, having grown up at a time where women’s wrestling was not in the position it is in today, with WWE Divas being largely eye candy and wrestling short matches during her early fandom. That being said, that did not stop Maya from still loving the division and it’s participants, including a former WWE Divas Champion.

While speaking in an interview from prior to AEW All In, Maya World would be asked about her favorite wrestlers growing up, with Maya naming Kelly Kelly as ‘her girl.’

“She’s (Mercedes Mone) the one who mostly inspired me to wrestle, but my first favorite wrestler was like Kelly Kelly, Undertaker. Like, you know what I mean? Like, I watched them. They just didn’t inspire me to wrestle. But I loved Kelly Kelly. That was my girl, and all the Divas, honestly. She was my favorite, but I loved the whole Divas division.”
