Maya World On Dave Meltzer Not Rating Her AEW Forbidden Door Match Against Mercedes Mone: ‘I Don’t Care’

Maya World says she doesn’t care whether Dave Meltzer rates her match against Mercedes Mone or not.

At AEW Forbidden Door 2026, Mercedes Mone defeated Maya World to win the Women’s Owen Hart Cup. This match was widely praised by fans online, but it hasn’t been rated by Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer just yet. He’s had a busy few weeks but keeps saying that he’ll get to it eventually.

Speaking with Adrian Hernandez on Unlikely recently, Maya World was asked about Meltzer not rating the match.

“I don’t care. Everybody else can joke about it online, but I can’t joke about it. They’re like, ‘Why do y’all even care that he’s not rating it?’ I’m like, ‘We can’t just have a silly goofy moment? We can’t just laugh about it?’ It’s funny because someone asked me, ‘What is this beef with Dave Meltzer?’ I was like, ‘We don’t have beef.’ I’m so confused. I’m chilling. He’s chilling. He just didn’t rate the match. I don’t care at this point. But like you said, it just looks weird on him. Like, just rate it. If you think it’s a one star match, that’s not going to change my mind on it or anybody else who watched it. So I don’t really care.”
