Maya World Reveals She Wasn’t Supposed To Be At AEW Collision Where Nixon Newell And Miranda Alize Left

Plans changed on AEW Collision a year ago when Nixon Newell & Miranda Alize left the show instead of competing in their scheduled match against TayJay (Tay Melo & Anna Jay). They were replaced by Maya World & Hyan.

Maya and Hyan were signed by the company shortly after.

Speaking on Agent 00’s stream ahead of AEW Dynamite, Maya and Hyan gave the situation from their side.

Maya said, “It kind of just happened. If you know, you know. One day we were just working in Houston It was about a year ago. I might get in trouble for saying this, I don’t know, but two girls — we were not signed to the company yet — two women who were considered to be signed, they walked out and so we got an opportunity to step up. We were not tag partners. When they let us, we stepped up, and Tony [Khan] was like, ‘They’re good. Come back.’”

Hyan added, “We weren’t even supposed to have a match. She wasn’t even supposed to be there that day.”

Maya confirmed she wasn’t supposed to be there that day.

Maya is now a former AEW TBS Champion.
