Cause of death confirmed for Silver King.
A medical examiner in London (via The Wrestling Observer) confirmed that Silver King (real name Cesar Gonzalez) passed away due to a heart attack. Silver King was wrestling Juventud Guerrera in London on May 11 when he suddenly collapsed in the ring. He was 51.
Silver King's father, Dr. Wagner, also died of a heart attack. He was 68.
Ulises Gonzalez, the son of Silver King, said in a press conference that his father was healthy and believes his father would still be alive if quicker action had been taken. He went on to say that his father would have needed a pacemaker and would have retired from wrestling.
Dave Meltzer noted that there has been a push for referees to get CPR training.
Daniel Lopez, known as El Satanico, runs the commission out of Zapopan and has now mandated that shows need two ambulances on site, one paramedic will be on every show, and that at least one referee on every show will need to have had CPR training.
