Trick Williams Wins Men's Iron Survivor Challenge At NXT Deadline, Earns NXT Title Shot

Trick Williams won the 2023 Men's Iron Survivor Challenge, outlasting Dijak, Tyler Bate, Josh Briggs, and Bron Breakker.

With this victory, Williams has earned a shot at the NXT Title at NXT New Year's Evil.

Briggs and Dijak started the match. Bate, Trick, and Breakker entered the bout in that order. Dijak got on the board first, followed by Briggs, and then Bate.

Bate was the first person to score a second fall.

Within 35 seconds of entering the bout, Breakker scored three falls.

Bate tied things up with Breakker at just under the 19-minute mark.

Dijak and Briggs scored simultaneous falls at the 21-minute mark to put Dijak at three falls and Briggs at two.

Dijak seemed to have his fourth fall secure in the final minute by Eddy Thorpe prevented it.

Trick Williams scored three falls in the final two minutes and then a fourth fall, countering a spear by Breakker with a flying knee, in the final seconds to win the match.

If you are unfamiliar with the rules of the Iron Survivor challenge, they are as follows.

  • The match has a timer of 25 minutes as two competitors will begin the match and a new competitor will join the field every five minutes until the 15 minute mark.
  • The objective is to earn the most points before the time expires. Points are earned by scoring a pinfall, submission or being the victim of a disqualification.
  • The loser of a fall must go into the penalty box for 90 seconds.
  • Should there be a tie for the most falls, sudden death overtime will feature between the tied parties.
