Trevor Lee (Cameron Grimes) Announced For First Post-WWE Appearance

Mone entered to chants of "CEO" in her hometown of Boston. Mone said that she was home and thanked the fans for having her back and sticking with her. Mone said that wrestling has saved her life and that she dreamed of becoming the greatest wrestler of all time.

Mone said she was in AEW because she wanted and needed to be in AEW and wants to take the revolution global.

Mone said she can't wait to face the talent in AEW, noting she had unfinished business with Willow Nightingale.

She closed by saying, "Please say hello to your new CEO."

Mone hasn't wrestled since May 21, when she suffered an ankle injury against Willow Nightingale at NJPW STRONG Resurgence 2023.

Mercedes (formerly Sasha Banks in WWE) left WWE in May 2022, walking out during an episode of WWE Raw alongside Naomi. Mercedes & Naomi were the reigning WWE Women's Tag Team Champions at the time of their walkout. Naomi has since returned to the company.

Mercedes joined NJPW at Wrestle Kingdom on January 4 when she confronted KAIRI (Kairi Sane), who was the reigning IWGP Women's Champion. She won the IWGP Women's Title from KAIRI at NJPW Battle In The Valley 2023, but lost the title to Mayu Iwatani at Stardom All-Star Grand Queendom.

Fightful Select reported on December 29 that talks between Mone and WWE fell apart. Shortly after, Fightful Select reported Mone was expected to join AEW.
