Mercedes Mone speaks on feeling alive while in the ring.
Since early 2024, Mercedes Mone has been a member of the AEW roster and has been one of the companies top stars in the meantime, and is currently the TBS champion. This weekend at AEW Double Or Nothing, Mone will look to win the Owen Hart Cup as she faces Jamie Hayter in the tournament finals.
While speaking to Justin Barrasso for Undisputed, Mone noted that once she's in the ring, she feels alive.
“Once I’m in the ring, I feel alive, this is exactly where I’m supposed to be.”
Mone continued, speaking about wanting to explore other countries following her WWE exit and frustration with last minute changes while with the promotion.
“I wanted to explore Japanese women’s wrestling and UK women’s wrestling for so long. I’m not dreaming about it anymore–I’m doing it. Before, there were so many times when I was getting four-minute matches–or we’d get to the building and something would change. You’d spend weeks planning for it all to change at the last minute. Now, it’s not changing. I get to go out and do it. It’s mine to claim, it’s mine to carry, it’s mine to do. I get to go out and live my dream.”
Julia Hart recently commented on working with Mone, with hopes to face her again in the future. You can read more about that here.
