Mercedes Mone Provides Injury Update

Mercedes Mone has shared a photo of her injured ankle.

At NJPW Resurgence, Mone competed against Willow Nightingale to become the inaugural NJPW STRONG Women's Champion. Unfortunately for Mone, she sustained an injury during the bout which now has her sidelined.

NJPW issued a statement after the event saying that Mone injured her right ankle. Fightful Select would later report that NJPW believes Mercedes sustained a severe sprain without a break, however, a more definitive diagnosis would have to wait for the swelling to subside.

On June 11, the former WWE Superstar would share an Instagram story showing her ankle heavily wrapped with a caption reading, "Day 6 recovery."

A timeline on Mone's return to action has yet to be provided.
