Michael Cole Mistakenly Says That Sgt. Slaughter Is Deceased While On Commentary For The 'Greatest Royal Rumble' Event

WWE's 'Greatest Royal Rumble' event was one that ran for a little over five hours. With ten matches on the card going straight through, sitting at commentary for that extended period of time may have been draining for the broadcast team of Michael Cole, Corey Graves, and Byron Saxton

During the SmackDown Live Tag Team Titles match between The Bludgeon Brothers & The Usos which was the fifth match on the card, Rowan had Jey Uso in a maneuver that was patented by WWE Hall Of Famer Sgt. Slaughter. Longtime WWE commentator Michael Cole went on to state that the move was made famous by the “late great Sgt. Slaughter."

 

The former WWF World Heavyweight Champion is alive and well and following the match Cole went on to apologize for his mistake and jokingly stated that his long day was to blame for the slip up.
