Michelle McCool Left WWE In 2011 Due To Her Relationship With The Undertaker

Michelle McCool was treated differently after she began dating The Undertaker.

Former Divas Champion Michelle McCool stepped away from wrestling in 2011 for a number of reasons, but the biggest reason was her relationship with The Undertaker. Not only did she want to start a family with Undertaker but she was tired of being treated differently because she had married one of the biggest stars in wrestling history.

Speaking to Lilian Garcia on Chasing Glory, McCool revealed her mindset as she was planning on leaving WWE.

"Leaving was tough because it got to a point where -- I was dealing with so much, mostly being Undertaker's girlfriend while I was on TV. There was even a writer who threw the papers up one day and said, 'Why don't we just call it the Michelle McCool and Undertaker show.' I went to Vince [McMahon] on numerous occasions and said, 'I don't want to hate something that I grew up loving so much. The longer I stay, the more I get this sour taste in my mouth.'"

McCool had made sporadic appearances in WWE since retiring, most notably in the first-ever Women's Royal Rumble in 2018 and at WWE Evolution.
