Mick Foley Comments On Rick Steiner's Alleged Derogatory Comments To Gisele Shaw At WrestleCon

WrestleCon held its annual convention during WrestleMania weekend, bringing together stars from the past, present, and future for fans to interact with.

Unfortunately, the convention was not without incident as Gisele Shaw claimed that Rick Steiner made derogatory statements towards her regarding her being transgender. Shaw said that Rick continued to make comments, even when she confronted him and said, "excuse me." She said other legends looked on and did nothing but her peers from IMPACT tried to diffuse the situation.

Mick Foley, who was present at WrestleCon, was asked about his experience on Foley is Pod.

"I did hear about the issue...you talking about the Steiner thing? The saddest thing, this is not diminishing Rick Steiner going out of his way to make one of the other guests feel really bad, which is really unfortunate. There is still some backward thinking. Even if someone has an opinion, no need to hurt somebody like that. Completely unnecessary. The saddest thing is that the table next to mine was supposed to be the Bushwhackers. Luke told me on Friday that Butch had made it, but he had to go to the ICU. I only found out last night, when I was getting ready for my red eye flight that Butch had passed away. That was the saddest thing about WrestleCon," said Foley.

WrestleCon issued a statement say Steiner had been banned from the event. Steiner has yet to comment on the incident.

Bushwhacker Butch passed away on April 3 at the age of 78.
