Mick Foley: I've Never Had A Fire Extinguisher Spot That Didn't Hurt

Mick Foley says he's never been in a situation in a wrestling match where a fire extinguisher was involved, and it wasn't a painful experience.

Fire extinguishers in hardcore wrestling matches are often seen as light-hearted moments where one wrestler uses a fire extinguisher, activating the CO2 extinguishing agent to create some distance between himself and his opponent. Usually, a babyface wrestler uses the extinguisher to blind his opponent momentarily.

Mick Foley recently spoke about a variety of hardcore weapons on Maven's YouTube channel and ranked fire extinguishers as a considerably painful object because the CO2 agent can sometimes create a shortness of breath, leading to a painful experience.

"Fire extinguishers are a funny thing. Usually, you're getting sprayed with it, not hit with it. But the thing about the CO2 extinguishers is that it makes it really hard to breathe. Especially if you've been through a match and you're gassing out already. Panic sets in, because you're used to being able to draw those breaths, or if you understand, 'Okay, maybe I'm not in the condition I wish I was.' Then you throw this on top of it, I'm gonna go with 'it hurts,' because I never had an experience where it did not."

Elsewhere in the video, he spoke about being the first person that Triple H ever hit with a sledgehammer. Learn more about that experience here.
