Mick Foley discusses how fans have the right to withdraw from his fandom due to how he feels about Donald Trump’s administration.
In recent weeks, Foley has declared that he will no longer appear for WWE or work with them while Donald Trump’s administration is in the White House, something that has drawn attention to WWE’s relationship with the administration. Despite this, Foley has previously shot down reports that he is ‘furious’ with WWE. That being said, Foley is well aware that he has lost fans.
While speaking to Orlando Weekly in a new interview, Mick Foley spoke about fans withdrawing from his fandom following his comments about the Trump administration.
“People know that I’m not on board with a lot of things the current administration is doing,” he said. “I have fans who feel different, and still like and support me, and I have [fans] who dropped out of the fandom, which is obviously their right.”
Despite his recent comments, Foley assured people that politics will not play a part in his 40 Years of Foley live show.
“People know I’m outspoken,” he said. “But the closest I get to making a political statement in the show is saying that kindness is cool.”
Matt Hardy recently stated his belief that Foley will have a prominent role in AEW. You can read more about that here.
