Mick Foley believes that ladders can be extremely dangerous to work with in wrestling matches.
Mick Foley is recognized as one of the top Hardcore wrestlers in industry history. However, he also understood and emphasized the importance of risk versus reward. When discussing a relative staple of modern wrestling, the ladder, Foley notes that even in the best-case scenario, you're dealing with lasting effects.
Mick Foley recently spoke about a variety of hardcore weapons on Maven's YouTube channel and ranked ladders in the "I hate this job" category.
"Those ladders, say, Powerbomb on the ladder. You do it in line, and you get it perfectly?. It's still going to hurt like hell. You Power Bomb somebody across instead of with it, you could be looking at the end of somebody's career. Joey Mercury nearly lost his nose. I think it's a career shortener. I do, I really do. I know it's great when it's Tables, Ladders and Chairs, but it's like there's so much going on. Even in the best-case scenario, you're bruising like the corner of your elbow, and you're struggling for weeks with nagging injuries. Worst-case scenario, you shorten your career."
Elsewhere in the video, he spoke about being the first person that Triple H ever hit with a sledgehammer. Learn more about that experience here.
