Mike Santana: AJ Francis Is Like Me, He Has Something To Prove

Mike Santana praises his on-screen rival, AJ Francis. Sometimes, when two men are very similar, they’re likely to clash. That’s the case with Francis and Santana.

Both recently engaged in a rivalry in TNA Wrestling; AJ Francis actually cost Mike Santana the chance to become the TNA World Champion on an episode of WWE NXT. Despite all of this, Santana respects Francis as a man and says they are alike in how they use the energy of their doubters to drive their progress.

Mike Santana spoke about AJ Francis during a recent interview with Sean Ross Sapp. In the interview, which was recorded before TNA Slammiversary, Santana praised his rivalry with Francis in addition to his first-class work ethic.

“That’s a recipe for greatness. AJ is like myself. We use that to fuel the fire. Like me, even now, being where I’m at, I feel like I wake up every day with something to prove. That’s just my nature and that’s who I am. So I think he’s in a similar mindset of like, ‘I got something to prove,’ and we definitely went out there and he proved it. It was definitely a good one. It definitely a good one.”
