Mikey Nicholls Provides Update On His Status With NJPW

Nicholls has not wrestled for the company since 2024.
WrestleMobs rolled out an interview with former IWGP and NJPW STRONG Openweight Tag Team Champion Mikey Nicholls. As the conversation moved along, Nicholls spoke about his status with New Japan Pro-Wrestling.
The last time he wrestled for NJPW was in December 2024 when he and Shane Haste were a part of the World Tag League tournament.
“Because I don’t know what’s happened with Japan, but yeah, I haven’t been there since December. I’ve wrestled a bit here, in Perth but, it’s the longest I’ve gone without consistent kind of full-time wrestling in 20-odd years so, I don’t really know what to do with myself.
No one’s really said anything to me (about NJPW). It’s kind of just how it always has been. Sort of you wait and then you get a call and then it’s like, oh, you’re leaving in three days and you’re going for five weeks or whatnot but… I’m trying to make the most of it while I’m home… I’ve gotta work there eventually so…”
Nicholls is in the midst of his 23rd year as a wrestler. He’s held titles in NJPW, Pro Wrestling NOAH, and multiple titles in his home country of Australia.
