Former Minnesota Golden Gophers Wrestling Head Coach J. Robinson Passes Away

Former Minnesota Golden Gophers wrestling head coach J. Robinson has passed away.
J. Robinson was Minnesota’s wrestling head coach from 1986 to 2016. He was responsible for training WWE’s Brock Lesnar and Shelton Benjamin during their college years. Under Coach Robinson, Lesnar would become the NCAA Division I Heavyweight Champion in 2000. After college, both Lesnar and Benjamin were signed by WWE.
Robinson also led the Gophers to three NCAA National Championships in 2001, 2002, and 2007.
Golden Gopher Wrestling shared the news of his passing on social media. He died at the age of 79.
