Miro Takes Jon Moxley's Place In The AEW World Title Eliminator Tournament, Advances To Finals

A new name has been added to the AEW World Title Eliminator Tournament.

The November 3 episode of AEW Dynamite was supposed to feature a semi-finals match between Jon Moxley and Orange Cassidy. Yesterday, though, Tony Khan announced online that Jon Moxley would be entering an inpatient alcohol treatment program. The AEW President said that he and the entire AEW family are embracing Jon’s decision and supporting him however they can. Tony looks forward to a time in the future when Moxley is eventually ready to return to the ring.

As a result, it was revealed during tonight’s broadcast that Miro would be taking his place. The former TNT Champion hasn’t competed since he lost his belt to Sammy Guevara on the September 29 episode of Dynamite. Miro went on to crush Orange Cassidy and punch his ticket to the finals in the main event of the show.

The finals are set to take place at Full Gear on November 13. The winner will receive an AEW World Championship opportunity. The tournament was won last year by Kenny Omega, who defeated Hangman Page in the finals. Those two men will do battle again this year, but this time around the AEW World Title will be on the line.
