The Miz And Edge Agree To Go One-On-One At WWE Day 1

The Miz and Edge will go one-on-one to kick-off 2022.

Nearly 11 years ago, Edge and Miz were at polar opposite places in their career.

Edge was competing in his final match as a full-time competitor at WrestleMania 27 against Alberto Del Rio in the opening match as The Miz was competing in his first WrestleMania main event in the main event against John Cena.

While both men were at the peak of their respective brands at the time, their journeys were about to take drastically different turns. Edge would go on to retire for nine years and The Miz would continue to make his presence felt for the next decade winning many championships and building his legacy.

Now, heading into a new year, The Miz and Edge will collide for the first time ever on pay-per-view as WWE ushers in 2022 with WWE Day 1 from Atlanta, Georgia. Both men agreed to this match after Edge appeared on Miz TV on Monday, December 6.

From WWE:

Edge’s return to Raw was a welcome sight for almost the entire WWE Universe, but The Rated-R Superstar had one notable detractor: The Miz.

Fresh off his appearance on “Dancing with the Stars,” The A-Lister came back to Raw on the same night as Edge. With his lovely wife Maryse by his side, Miz showered the WWE Hall of Famer with criticisms, wondering why his return got all of WWE’s promotion behind it while The Miz’s was left with nothing.

After a heated verbal exchange, Miz hosted Edge on the most must-see talk show in history, “Miz TV,” the following week, which saw the two rivals decide to settle their beef at WWE Day 1. The confrontation was capped off with a statement-making Skull-Crushing Finale by The Miz.

What will happen when two of the most decorated Superstars in WWE history square off on the first night of 2022?

Find out at WWE Day 1 on Saturday, Jan. 1, streaming live at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT exclusively on Peacock in the U.S. and on WWE Network everywhere else.

Edge has made it clear that he believes The Miz is entitled and The Miz is looking to prove that he has long since surpassed Edge and 2022 will be the year of The Miz.
