The Miz Didn't Initially Want To Spoof John Cena And Nikki Bella

The Miz once fooled WWE fans by impersonating The Rock ahead of WrestleMania in 2011, but last year he got his wife Maryse in on the act at the expense of John Cena and Nikki Bella.

The "it" couple of the WWE spoofed Cena and Bella's "Total Bellas" reality series on Smackdown Live in early 2017 to rave reviews and much laughter, but according to The Miz, initially he didn't even want to do the skits. On a recent episode of "WWE Photo Shoot" Miz looked back on the segments.

London Mayor Sadiq Khan Believes London Has Potential To Host First International WrestleMania

"When we first heard they wanted us to imitate John Cena and Nikki Bella, I was like 'Nah, I don't want to do it.' Maryse and I were driving the next week and I was like 'I don't even know what we would do.' I started acting like I thought John Cena acted on Total Bellas. Then I would magnify it times a hundred. I would be talking like a robot. Then (Maryse) started doing it and I thought (it) could be really funny.

Everyone thought it was really funny and we set up these vignettes. Maryse and I would improv on it and go off of each other. It made for a ridiculously funny segment"

Miz and Maryse would go on to be an integral part of WrestleMania 33 in 2017, taking on the duo of Cena and Bella, eventually falling to the couple. You can check out the full clip of WWE Photo Shoot below.
