MJF: Everyone Wrestles Like The Next Guy In This Generation. Everyone Is Wrestling The Exact Same Way, It’s A Snooze Fest For Me

MJF wants wrestlers to study wrestling.
Friedman has been very open about his consumption of professional wrestling in the past, previously stating that he watches every company in the business aside from NJPW.
In a new interview with Self Made Pro, MJF criticized other wrestlers for not watching enough wrestling.
“I think the biggest issue with people of my generation right now, besides reps, is the lack of watching wrestling. They’ll pretend and lie to whoever their coach is, whether it be at the PC or weather it be the coaches at AEW — I know these cats ain’t going home and consuming wrestling. They’re not because everybody wrestles like the next guy in this generation. Everyone’s wrestling the exact same way and it’s a snooze fest for me. The way I wrestle, I’m a traditionalist at heart. Always have been, always will be. Everybody was telling me in the back, ‘Oh shit, you’re going to have to follow Kyle Fletcher and Mark Briscoe in a ladder match, are you freaking out?’ No. Because I knew my match was going to be so so so so so different that it wouldn’t matter. It’s never going to matter and I think that’s why a lot of people struggle. I think being in the main event of an AEW pay-per-view is about the hardest thing you can do a professional wrestler. It doesn’t get harder than that. Everybody’s wrestling for 20 to 30 minutes because we’re all so competitive, everyone’s trying to have the best match on the card. I don’t sweat it and the reason I don’t sweat it is because I’m so different. The reason I don’t sweat it is because when I was on the independent circuit, I was wrestling three times a week every week from the time I was 18 until the time I got signed.”
Elsewhere in the interview, MJF talked about never wanting to be involved with a stable again. Fans can check out his full comments by clicking here.
