MJF Explains Why He Took His Scarf Off In June 2022 Promo Aimed At Tony Khan
MJF was stretchered out of AEW Double or Nothing after falling to Wardlow in singles competition. Days later at AEW Dynamite, MJF addressed the crowd, wearing his trademark burberry scarf.
MJF ditched the scarf as he said, “I’ll talk, but this is Max Friedman talking.” He then launched into a scathing promo calling Tony Khan “a fucking mark.”
Speaking with Liam Crowley on Coffee Chats, MJF was asked about the subtle differences between his character and the real person when it comes to wrestling and acting.
“I feel most confident when I feel like what I’m doing is true to me. When I can have little reminders like that, it’s really helpful. In that moment, when I took the scarf off, I needed everybody to know that, first of all, everything that comes out of my mouth on a weekly basis is already real. I needed everybody to know that, not only is this real, but please pay attention to everything coming out of my mouth because I’m angry right now. I needed everyone to know that I’m angry right now, and everybody did. It all worked out,” he said.
MJF was off AEW TV until AEW All Out 2022 when he made his return to confront CM Punk at the end of the show.
MJF currently stars in “Happy Gilmore 2,” which is now streaming on Netflix.
