MJF: I’m Not Going To Stop Wearing My Ring Because Some Shmegegge Won It Once

From 2019-24, MJF won six straight Dynamite Diamond Rings. AEW’s current World Champion isn’t too keen on Bandido being the latest winner of the ring, but those two will settle things in the ring soon enough.
“Are you referring to the Lucha guy? What was his name again?” MJF asked Brandon Walker when he discussed Bandido winning the Dynamite Diamond Ring on Dynamite. “Here’s the deal, think of this as a Super Bowl Ring. Just because this guy won it, it doesn’t retract all the ones that I won year after year.”
MJF continued, “Congrats to this guy, he won the ring, this year because I wasn’t involved in it and my boss is a mark and hates my guts, he decided if you win the ring this year you don’t just win money, you also get a guaranteed title shot at Maximum Carnage.”
The now two-time AEW World Champion took offense to Tony Khan giving Bandido a title shot but he didn’t for any of the first six years he won it. That said, he made his stance on wearing the ring very clear, “I’m not going to stop wearing my ring because some shmegegge won it once.”
Walker, who hosts Mostly Sports, was left perplexed when MJF said the word “shmegegge”. He went on to confirm it’s a Yiddish word that is very Jewish.
