MJF Recalls A ‘Fan’ In Chicago Trying To Abduct Him By Being A Fake Pilot

MJF has been known to generate plenty of heat and get fans riled up.

So much so that a “fan” once tried to abduct him.

Speaking to Adam Friedland, MJF recalled a near abduction in 2019.

“I’m at a show in Chicago, my father just had a heart attack. My mother told me, ‘Don’t worry.’ This is one of the first pay-per-views in the history of our company. ‘You don’t want to miss this.’ I’m there, I’m pretty distraught, I’m worried about my dad. He ended up being okay. A pilot walks up to me and he goes, ‘Mr. Friedman, I’m going to be flying you out back home after the show.’ To be fair, I had flown on the jet a couple of times with my boss up to that point. I find my boss after this pilot says this to me, I knock on his door, he opens the door, and I go, ‘I want you to know how much this means to me that you’re trying to fly me back home to my dad as soon as possible after he had the heart attack.’ Tony did know. He goes, ‘What the fuck are you talking about?’ ‘The pilot just told me.’ ‘I didn’t fucking book you a jet to go back home tonight.’ Now, I go back over with one of the EVPs, QT Marshall, and QT goes, ‘Who did you say hired you again?’ The pilot goes, ‘Tony Khan.’ We go, ‘Okay. Are you sure about that?’ Security comes and they grab this guy and QT goes, before the guy leaves, ‘We’ll let you stay if you show us your pilot’s license.’ The guy, I shit you not, does this, [pats his waist], ‘Ah! I left it at home.’ Get the fuck out of here!”

Asked how he got backstage, MJF replied, “We still don’t know how he got backstage. To be fair, our security team has changed since then. It probably was the building security, not even AEW security fault. They asked this guy, ‘What were you planning on doing?’ He was honest. He said he was going to fucking abduct me. That’s the craziest fan wanting me dead scenario I’ve ever been in.”

Asked if the fan was persecuted, MJF said, “To this day, I don’t know what happened after that.”

AEW All Out 2019, the second pay-per-view in company history, was held at Sears Centre Arena in Hoffman Estates, Illinois.
