MJF Says He’s Pitched A Wednesday Night Wars Documentary To Tony Khan

In 2019, AEW and NXT went head-to-head every Wednesday in what was dubbed the “Wednesday Night Wars,” a take on the “Monday Night Wars” between WWE Raw and WCW Nitro.

The war on Wednesday wasn’t competitive as Dynamite won 63 of the 75 head-to-head weeks in viewership and 74 weeks in the demo. NXT eventually moved to Tuesday nights.

Speaking to Joe Hulbert of Late Night Grin Productions, while discussing the lost art of DVD media and wrestling documentaries, AEW World Champion MJF revealed he’s pitched a Wednesday Night Wars documentary to Tony Khan.

“I do think we drop the ball in my company, and I’ve said this to Tony, ‘We should do a Wednesday Night Wars’ documentary. We literally won, and we have guys who work in our company now who were on the other side. It’d be fucking sick. You can sit down (Adam) Cole, Roddy (Strong), Kyle (O’Reilly), Swerve (Strickland), all these guys that were on the other side of the war. You can’t sit down Bobby Fish, unfortunately. Folks, where is the lie?”

WWE produced a Monday Night Wars documentary years after the war was over, and they purchased WCW.

MJF is set to defend the AEW World Title against Kenny Omega at AEW Dynasty.
