MLW Azteca now has a start date.
MLW Azteca, which is a playoff of the old Lucha Underground promotion held its first series of tapings as MLW recently filmed content in Mexico with The CRASH Lucha Libre promotion.
Now, it was revealed by Sports Illustrated that the first series of Azteca episodes will premiere during the first week of January 2022.
As is the case with most Major League Wrestling content, it will premiere first on YouTube on January 6 then on beIN Sports on January 8.
“Wrestling in America is on fire, but what’s missing is more representation from Mexico. Enter MLW Azteca and the masked world of authentic Mexican lucha libre,” says MLW CEO Court Bauer.
Court Bauer also stated this is the beginning of a whole new universe that will be built around the Azteca brand.
“This is a precursor to an emerging world built around the Azteca lucha brand,” Bauer says. “There will be a distinct identity that delivers an entirely different experience for the viewer.”
