MLW Callbacks To The Former Gimmick Of Recently-Released WWE Star As Part Of MLW Azteca

Killshot appears to still be locked up in the underground.

At the end of the second episode of MLW Azteca, Emilio Sparks and Richard Holliday rescued Alex Hammerstone from where he was being held captive. However, on their way to unlocking the door with Hammerstone’s name on it they passed by a door that said Killshot.

Killshot was the character that Shane Strickland portrayed in Lucha Underground. Shane Strickland went on to be Isaiah Scott in WWE. He was released back in November of 2021 along with the rest of his stable, Hit Row, but it appears, his alter ego still exists in the Underground.

It was also shown that Salina de la Renta has a door with her name on it. She was the top manager in MLW and then Promociones Dorado was purchased by Cesar Duran, formerly Dario Cueto in Lucha Undergound, and there was a segment where it look like she was at risk of being executed. In real life, Salina de la Renta is focusing on making content regularly with Alicia Atout

Prior to his run in WWE, Shane Strickland was also an MLW World Champion. He had a 90-day no-compete and has been focusing on his music and his podcast, Swerve City.
