Moose reflects on having the opportunity to work with Leon Slater during his X-Division title reign.

At TNA Slammiversary last year, Moose would put the TNA X-Division Championship on the line as he would face off with Leon Slater, with Slater coming away with the victory and his first championship in TNA.

While speaking to Rewind, Recap, Relive in a new interview, Moose spoke about being dethroned by Slater, noting that he thinks the plan was always for Slater to take the title from him.

“Oh, yeah. I mean, I think going in, the plan was always for Leon to eventually take it from me. I think that’s the only reason why they gave it to him, because to make Leon a superstar, he needed a credible opponent to beat to become that superstar that he is now, right? I’m one of those guys, I’m always willing to put my body and mind and whatever I have going on on the line to help a new generation of talent take that next step up. Once they gave me the format and the idea of what that whole run was going to be, I was happy to accept it.”

Elsewhere in the same interview, Moose spoke about working with Oba Femi as part of TNA’s working relationship with WWE. You can read more about that here.
