MSK Discuss When They Found Out About Dusty Rhodes Classic And NXT Tag Title Victory

MSK (Wes Lee & Nash Carter) have been riding a high in 2021, joining the NXT brand, competing in the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic, and winning the NXT Tag Team Titles.

The duo has had their dreams come true this year and, in true WWE fashion, they didn't know what was going to happen until the day of.

"I don't remember when we got notified," said Wes when asked by Sean Waltman on Pro Wrestling 4 Life when they found out about being in the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic.

"It was like a day or two before. We were shooting a vignette and they were like, 'Are you guys good to go tomorrow?'" recalled Nash.

Wes added, "We're like...where? We showed up and showed out."

MSK would win the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic, defeating Grizzled Young Veterans in the finals. They would go on to win the NXT Tag Team Titles at NXT TakeOver: Stand & Deliver, defeating GYV and Legado Del Fantasma in a triple threat match.

When asked when they found out about winning the titles, Wes replied, "When it was happening. Once the actual one-two-three happened because, as you know, things are always up in the air until the bell rings. You never know what could happen. It's still hard to process because we hit the ground immediately with the Dusty Classic, won, and then my hand got broken, which was like a distraction and it didn't give us time to process things. Then, immediately we got ready for the championship match. We have a lot of things that we haven't quite completely processed."

MSK most recently teamed with Kushida in a six-man tag team bout, losing to Legado Del Fantasma.

Elsewhere during the podcast, MSK talked with Waltman about using the bronco buster. You can find their full comments by clicking here.
