Mustafa Ali Co-Writes Comic Book About His Experiences As A Police Officer And Wrestler

Mustafa Ali continues to get his story out there.

Now-SmackDown Live star Mustafa Ali is keeping the ball rolling with having his name in headlines. Mustafa shared his story to the masses when he joined Lilian Garcia's 'Chasing Glory' podcast, made his SmackDown Live debut on December 11th and was officially added to the SmackDown roster the following week as a permanent member. Today it was announced by 'Headlocked Comics' that they were teaming up with Ali to create a comic book which will detail the real-life experiences that Mustafa Ali had as a police officer in Chicago and as wrestler prior to signing with WWE and below is the official press release concerning the comic book:

Headlocked Comics announces the digital release of The Beacon, a collaboration with wrestling star, Adeel Alam (WWE’s Mustafa Ali) and artist Nadia Ramlan. The story, co-written by Alam and Mike Kingston (Headlocked, WWE), pulls from some of Alam’s real-life experiences as a police officer and a wrestler before he joined the WWE.

For Alam, the opportunity to tell this story through a different medium was a big draw for him. “Having the opportunity to tell a story, whether it be in the ring or on paper, is important. Stories make us understand each other by seeing the world, even if only for a moment, through someone else’s eyes.”

That sentiment was echoed by Kingston, who has collaborated on stories with numerous wrestlers for his Headlocked comic book series including AJ Styles, Ric Flair, Mick Foley, and Kenny Omega. “This is very different from any story that we’ve done thus far and it’s definitely one of the most significant. In my opinion, Mustafa Ali is one of the most important characters in wrestling and it was an honor in some small way to help Adeel spread his message.”

The story will be available digitally for 99 cents on December 24rd at headlocked.com and a limited edition printed mini-comic will be available for subscribers of the January Edition of WrestleCrate USA.

WWE recently put together a 'WWE Day Of' video for Mustafa Ali as cameras followed him on the day that he pinned WWE Champion Daniel Bryan in the main event of SmackDown Live. Click here to watch the video.
