Mustafa Ali: I'll See Y'all In Like Two And A Half Years

Mustafa Ali doesn't think he'll be seen much.

Ali publicly requested his release from WWE on January 16, but as of yet, his release has not been granted. Fightful reported on January 20 that WWE did not plan on granting him his release.

The report also noted "Ali has years left on his WWE deal."

While not confirmation of how much time is left on his contract, Ali tweeted that he would see fans "in two and a half years."

On the day of the Royal Rumble, Ali noted that he didn't want to be in the Rumble, he wanted his release.

Fightful was told at least one talent pitched an idea for Mustafa Ali to eliminate them, and were posed with the question if Ali would even be interested. His tweet indicated that he wasn't.

Fightful learned via WWE sources that the term "value" was used in reasoning behind keeping Mustafa Ali under contract. He's not been brought back to TV since an argument with Vince McMahon over creative direction.

Fightful will continue to update fans on Ali's status as more is known.
