Mustafa Ali Says Bout With Ethan Page Was The Best NXT TV Match Of 2025

The October 7 episode of WWE NXT featured a huge match for the NXT North American Championship, as Ethan Page defended the belt against Mustafa Ali. The bout was widely praised, with some crowning it as the best match that the WWE-TNA partnership has produced.
Speaking with The Sportster for a new interview, Mustafa Ali took it a step further and used his character to claim that his match with Page was the best NXT television match of 2025.
“This is another controversial take. Listen, I don’t work there and I just showed up on a random Tuesday and I gave them — you can say what you want, it’s your opinion but you’re wrong — I gave them the best television match they had all year in fifteen minutes. Every news site was talking about it, the people that review shows were talking about how good it was. Ethan and I went in there and told a masterful story with nuances and arcs and everything, the storyline of being cursed and whatnot. That was just me strolling in on a random Tuesday. That’s another shot at the entire NXT locker room. You guys work there, you train there, you guys live there, and here comes ol’ Mustafa Ali strolling in. I can’t really think of a TV match that came close to everything. I’m not talking about just huge spots, a story, moments, selling, this and that and whatnot. It was well done.”
