MVP Says He Has A Year Or Two Left As An In-Ring Competitor, Wants To Do A Retirement Tour

MVP is winding down his career.

Since signing with AEW in 2024, MVP has remained active on the independent scene, competing in promotions like Northeast Wrestling and Coastal Championship Wrestling.

The 51-year-old has been vocal about his career winding down in the past, but now, there could be a timetable for MVP's possible in-ring retirement.

On the latest edition of his Marking Out podcast with Dwayne Swayze, MVP revealed that he wants to embark on a retirement tour.

“At this stage of the game for me, like, I don’t have to do it. I just still enjoy doing it. When I get to the point that I can’t do it effectively or if I’m taking baseball slide bumps, then it’s time to go. I plan on ending this run here pretty soon anyway. I want to have my last match. I want to have the retirement tour, let me go around, ‘Hey, this is the last time MVP will be wrestling in your city.’"

Swayze proceeded to joke about MVP wrestling for another 20 years.

“I’d like to think I got maybe another 10 as a manager, maybe 15 depending on my age and health. As far as in the ring, I got like maybe a year or two left max, man.”

MVP last wrestled on May 10, 2025, defeating Al Snow at a Northeast Wrestling event.
