The first Smackdown title vacation of the WWE brand split era has occurred. But we have a champion.
Naomi is now a former WWE Smackdown Women's Champion as she was forced to relinquish the title by commissioner Daniel Bryan. Naomi is dealing with an ankle injury that has sidelined her for the past week.
The former Total Divas star cut a promo in the ring saying that she knew Daniel Bryan was sympathetic to her, and that she'd likely be out for WrestleMania as well. Daniel Bryan then booked a championship match between former Champions Alexa Bliss and Becky Lynch.
Alexa Bliss ended up winning the match, becoming a two-time Smackdown Women's Champion. She's the first two-time champion in the short history of the title.
