Natalya couldn't be more happy for her friend, Edge and his return at the 2020 Royal Rumble, writing about the occurrence and her relationship with Edge in her latest column for the Calgary Sun.
Natalya revealed that Edge has always been a source of inspiration for her and has even guided her through some of her more important matches such as her Submission Match at SummerSlam 2019 with Becky Lynch.
“Last year, before I faced Becky Lynch for the Raw Women’s Championship at Summerslam in Toronto, I saw Adam about an hour before one of the biggest matches of my career,” Natalya said. “I asked him for help. He stopped everything he was doing and found a corner of the arena to give me the very best advice he could give. It made such a difference in my confidence and my performance that night to have his insight. I kept his words in my head throughout the entire match.”
Continuing on, Natalya revealed what her best friend and Edge's wife, Beth Phoenix, had to say about her husband returning to the ring and how proud she is of him for working so hard to get to this point.
“I don’t think anyone was more excited or nervous than Beth, who told me backstage, 'Adam is more ready for this than anything else in his life. He’s worked so incredibly hard to get back here. I’m so happy for him and so proud of him in every way,'” recalls Nattie.
