NBC Orders 11 Episodes Of 'Young Rock' Comedy Series Chronicling The Upbringing Of Dwayne Johnson

The world will be getting a unique look at the life of a young Dwayne Johnson as NBC has ordered 11 episodes of a single-camera comedy chronicling the young days of the former WWE Champion.

According to a post by The Wrap, the sitcom, called "Young Rock" will feature Dwayne Johnson in all 11 episodes and is written by Nahnatchka Khan, creator of the ABC sitcom "Fresh Off The Boat," and Jeff Chiang. NBC Entertainment Chairman Paul Telegdy announced the news at the Television Critics Association press tour on Saturday, January 11.

Executive producers on the upcoming comedy series include Khan, Chiang, Johnson's business partner, and ex-wife Dany Garcia, Hiram Garcia, former lead writer of WWE Monday Night Raw, Brian Gewirtz, and Jennifer Carreras, in addition to The Rock himself. The show will be produced by Universal Television, Seven Bucks Productions, and Khan’s Fierce Baby Productions.

This is not the first time NBC has worked with Johnson as NBC also played host to his Titan Games Reality Competition series Which featured NXT manager Robert Stone.
