New Champion Crowned At Hell In A Cell Main Event

In front of a pro-Sasha Banks Boston crowd, Charlotte played the spoiler and became the new RAW Women's Champion.

In the first ever all-female Hell in a Cell match, Charlotte and Sasha Banks main evented the Hell in a Cell show, the first time women ever closed a WWE main roster pay-per-view.

TNA IMPACT (4/18/2024) Results: System vs MCMG, Hammerstone vs Guido, Nic Nemeth, Rosemary, More

The win gives Charlotte her third RAW Women's Championship, and fourth overall title since she got called up from NXT, where she was also NXT Women's Champion.

The match itself had shades of the famous Mankind vs. Undertaker Hell in a Cell match, where both competitors fought outside of the structure and one of them got put in a stretcher. This time, it was Banks being laid out by Charlotte, with both women fighting among the fans before the bell even rang.

As Banks was being put on the stretcher, the ring announcer nearly declared Charlotte as the winner by forfeit, but the announcement was stopped short as Banks got out of the stretcher and scurried back into the ring and the match officially began.

This isn't the first time the pair made history for the women in WWE. The two main evented RAW several weeks back, the first time a women's title match closed the flagship show of WWE since Lita and Trish Stratus did it in 2004.

For Banks, this is now the second reign that has ended with Charlotte winning the title.
